JOB DESCRIPTION

VHA Home HealthCare is currently seeking a Junior to Intermediate level independent contractor to support multiple internal and external communication strategies and objectives. Your role will include a variety of duties, including: managing multiple social media platforms, writing, editing and coordinating newsletters, presentations, news releases and web content. You’ll ensure all communications aligns with VHA’s mission and core beliefs. Qualifications: Demonstrates creativity and attention to detail. Strong writer and editor. Ability to analyze, problem-solve and work under tight deadlines. Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and as a team player. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Knowledge of media relations. Demonstrates knowledge in Microsoft Office, WordPress and an understanding of design. Knowledge in SharePoint and Joomla an asset. Education and Experience: University Degree along with a recognized diploma in Communications, Public Relations or related discipline. A minimum of 2 years experience in corporate communications, preferably in the health care or a not-for-profit environment.
